The skin holds a high priority in health. By keeping our skin clean and moist, we can protect our bodies from any infections happening. Skin is also a big part of our appearance and self-confidence. When we look good, we feel good.

It’s easy to feel overwhelmed in a sea of brands, especially when you are just starting your skincare journey. Figuring out what kind of skin type you have can also be quite a challenge. A pricey and popular brand doesn’t necessarily mean that it will do good for your skin and hopping on that 7-step or 10-step skincare trend will actually damage and sensitize your skin more than you think.

Starting out with a 3 or 4 steps routine is enough. As long as you are consistent with the products you use, achieving glass skin will become a breeze.

Here are some of my favorite skincare-friendly products divided into 3 different sections. Note that all products are hydrating, fragrant-free, and non-dying.

Cleansers

  • Nourish All-in-One Facial Cleanser $5.99 [Trader Joe’s]

Trader Joe’s is famous for its health-conscious reach for selling organic and natural products. Did you know they also have their own facial care line? The Nourish All-in-One Facial Cleanser is an antioxidant-rich gentle exfoliant that leaves the skin baby smooth. This product is the perfect starter cleanser.

Moisturizers

  • Carrot Blemish Cream $24 [April Skin]

This cream is so special because it fades out red spots, evens out skin tone, and minimizes pores on your face. I am currently using this product and can assure you that it is a miracle moisturizer for people who have sensitive or combination skin types. This product also smoothes out milia, which are those tiny textured bumps on your skin located underneath your eyes and near your nose bridge.

  • Oat So Simple Moisturizer $28 [Krave Beauty]

This cream only contains 10 ingredients and is a very lightweight cooling moisturizer. This product is perfect to use for those who have both or either dry and oily skin types. The Oat So Simple

Moisturizer is a great wake-up call in the morning.

Sunscreen

  • The Beet Shield $20 [Krave Beauty]

This sunscreen is super lightweight and fast absorbent. This is by far the best sunscreen I have used because there is no scent and leaves your skin glowing. The Beet Shield is a gentle antioxidant fluid that protects your skin from harsh environmental factors and is SPF 50+.

  • Essence Sun Milk $17 [Missha]

Sun Milk glides smoothly on the skin and gives a dewy finish without a white cast. There is a scent and has a slightly thick fluid, but don’t fear because this sunscreen is strengthened with SPF50+ and PA+++, blocking out both UVA and UVB rays. It is also water and sweat-resistant, fine for people who have an oily skin type.

Hopefully, this short guide has helped! Don’t feel limited to just these products, feel free to explore other brands if needed. Remember that diet and sleep also play a big role in achieving clear and blemish-free skin.
