With the school year starting, many students are preparing for in-person classes at a majority of universities across the country. While this return to a sense of normalcy in our lives is extremely exciting, many are still worried about what in-person learning will entail. Having done virtual learning for almost a year and a half, many students will be on campus for the first time while others will be returning. Here are some tips to help make this transition to in-person learning smoother!

When returning to in-person classes, I really recommend keeping extra masks and hand sanitizers in your backpack. This will help you feel more secure in knowing you have a few backups within your reach. Additionally, carrying a water bottle with you around campus will be helpful as you walk from class to class throughout the day. While these may seem fairly simplistic, they will make all the difference when it comes to being back on campus

Something that made me slightly nervous about returning back to school was the ability to stay on top of all my assignments. With virtual learning, I constantly found myself with time to sort out my schedule in order to have enough time to organize all my tasks. However, being in person I was concerned I would not have as much time for these small tasks that kept me organized. The solution I found was purchasing a student planner in order to note down all of my classes, along with all of my assignments.

I realized I was feeling different emotions with being back on campus which led to me pursuing journaling. I extremely stress the importance of journaling as this provides you with an outlet for all of your thoughts and feelings. Once you begin writing every day, you will start to reap the benefits and feel lighter and more open.

I hope you all have an amazing school year whether you are participating in virtual learning or in-person learning! If you have any other tips that you recommend, tag us on Instagram and let us know @HerCampusSJSU!
