4 Career Advice TikTokers To Help You Secure the Bag

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at SJSU chapter.

You spend hours scrolling through the TikTok “For You” page every day, watching funny, sad and exciting content from people all over the world. Hours can go by when watching TikToks and you can’t even see the time when on the app. TikTok is a platform to post videos, but it’s also a place where you can learn from people working in your field, as well as learn how to rock your LinkedIn profile or resume. I follow some people that review resumes, give internship opportunities, and share their day-to-day lives working in their job. Here are some cool career TikTok influencers to follow to help with your career:

1. @chrristen

Christen currently works at TikTok but has also previously worked for Pinterest and Instagram. She gives daily career advice about landing jobs and internships! She also hosts 1:1 career advice sessions on a first come first serve basis. Some of her TikToks discuss the “4 ways to make you stand out when networking” and “the 3 job sites that have helped me land positions in tech.” I love her advice and I highly suggest following her if you need career advice or want to land a job in tech!

2. @_angelicasong

Angelica Song is a UC Berkeley student who posts content for both high school and college students and calls herself “ur college sis”. Her most-recently posted content is about what you can do with your major and what kinds of jobs you can get. She promotes that your major doesn’t matter for the most part and to build the proper skills for the job you’re interested in!

3. @careerbabe

Cynthia Huang is currently a marketing manager, but she used to work in Finance. Her content is related to switching career paths and giving career advice to students and people looking for jobs. She also posts about LinkedIn, networking and negotiation tips. She does resume reviews on TikTok for anyone interested!

4. @arieloznyc

Ariel Oz does beauty public relations and influencer partnerships and has formerly worked at Essie, Oribe and Laura Mercier. She has a YouTube video called “My Public Relations Career Journey & Advice for Your Job Search” if you are interested in following that career path. She recently started posting internship opportunities on her TikTok for college students, so check them out!

I hope this article helped you find new people to follow on TikTok and explore the world of learning through a social media platform!
