Thornton’s Bar and Grille Margarita Showdown

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Simmons chapter.

Are you part of the 20-fun club? Do you like margaritas? Every Thursday Thornton’s Fenway Grille has 5 dollar margaritas! They pair perfectly with 25 cent wings!

I set out to see which margarita is the best. Each kind was ranked on appearance, taste and bang for your buck (alcohol strength). Now in no way can I say that my taste buds are superior to yours, or that I can definitely tell how much tequila each drink has, so take it with a grain of salt… or rim for that matter (haha).

1. Watermelon Margarita!

This margarita flavor comes in number 1! The color is a beautiful light pink, the flavor is wonderfully sweet and the alcohol content is up there! It reminds me of a watermelon Jolly Rancher.  9/10 would recommend!

2. Strawberry Margarita!

I love the sweetness of this margarita! It reminds me of a more liquid strawberry daiquiri. If you like artificial strawberry, you’re sure to love this flavor. The color is a classic strawberry red and the taste of tequila is very subtle. 8/10 would recommend!

3. Classic Margarita!

This margarita is an absolute classic. The taste is sour and not heavy on the sugar. It’s a taste that leaves you wanting more. The alcohol content in this one really kicks it up. 7/10 would recommend!

4. Blue Raspberry Margarita!

Blue Raspberry is one of my favorite artificial flavors. Unfortunately there was hardly a raspberry flavor at all. However the color is gorgeous. It resembles a scorpion bowl in many ways. The lime is a nice contrast against the blue liquid. The alcohol content surely packs a punch though!

5. Peach Margarita!

Now peach isn’t one of my favorite flavors, so it’s no surprise this one is at the bottom of my list. However, if you like artificial peach, you will like this one a lot. The peach flavor was very prevalent! The color resembled the classic margarita, kind of a disappointment if you ask me. Alcohol wise, similar to the watermelon and strawberry.

You really can’t go wrong with any of these flavors and ultimately it’s totally up to your personal preference! Hopefully my guidance is enough to get you started!
