There’s How Much Sugar in my Drink?

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Simmons chapter.

Ever wondered why your favorite Starbucks drink has so many calories in it? It never really occurred to me until I got my first ever Chai Latte. It was of course very sweet and it prompted me to look up how much sugar was in it. I was shocked. I knew there was a lot, but this was heartbreaking! Next time I grab a white-cupped drink for a cute fall Snapchat, I will (probably) be taking these facts into consideration.

Here are a few fast facts about different beverages at Starbucks(all 12-ounces):

For a general reference point when looking at these, a 12-ounce can of Coca-Cola has 140 calories, 39 grams of total carbohydrates, and 39 grams of sugar.
