Spring fever has officially hit me. It’s time to clean my room, clean out my closet, and start confirming some of my summer plans. While I am having a bit of a hard time believing spring will ever make it to New England, I know it will be here sooner than later! One day it will snow and then next it will be 70 degrees and we have to be ready, it could happen any day now. If you find yourself doing a little shopping for some new spring clothes, consider some of this years popular spring and summer trends.

Denim Jackets

This is one of my biggest wardrobe staples. Denim, colored, sequined, painted, any kind of denim jacket is sure to be one of your most favorite pieces. You can wear it as a light jacket on a evening walk with your leggings, or pair it with a day dress to go to class. It’s so multi-purpose and cute with pretty much anything! Find one at the thrift store or even sites like etsy.com to find a personalized one.

Floral Midi Dresses

Florals are the best because there are so many options. They come in every color, print, style, and shape and you are bound to find one that compliments your style. They are light and comfy and can be easily dressed up or down for any occasion. Pair with nice heels for a graduation party or with grunge boots for a walk through the city.

Polka Dot ANYTHING

Pants, skirts, hats, bags, shoes, and anything you can find. Polka dots are everywhere this season and can make a great entire look or just an added accessory. Opt for the traditional black and white color scheme or try a brighter color combination like these yellow pants.

Hoop Earrings

Grab some hoop and geometric earrings from any store around. Classic silver or gold earrings with go with any outfit and are great to grab and take your look to the next level. If you are not sure about them, start with smaller hoops and work your way up to larger, wider hoops for a more dramatic look!

Bold Color Combinations

Don’t be afraid to rock the separates you have been wearing with jeans and white t-shirts this spring. It’s time to wear the royal blue cropped pants with a bright pink shirt! Get outside your comfort zone and wear something that will make people do a double take of your stunning outfit when you’re walking down the street. Here is a photo of Danielle Bernstein of @weworewhat rocking some bold colors at Paris Fashion Week.

Have fun trying out all of these trends and creating your own great looks from them. Before we know it we will be looking at fall trends! Enjoy the spring while we have it!
