Ranking ‘The Office’ Halloween Episodes From Best to Worst

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Simmons chapter.

1. Halloween (Season 2, Episode 5)

This is the iconic first Halloween episode of the Office. We are introduced to 2 headed Michael, 3 hole punch Jim, cat Pam, and Lord Dwight. The best part of this episode is watching Lord Dwight argue with the clay mache Michael head about who Michael should fire!

2. Costume Contest (Season 7, Episode 6)

This is the last Halloween episode with Michael in it, so of course, it has to be one of the best ones! Gabe dresses as Lady Gaga, Dwight as the Scranton Strangler, Ryan as Justin Bieber and another favorite is Kelly as Snooki and Katy Perry. A special shout out also goes to Jim, Pam and Cece for dressing as Popeye, Olive Oyl, and Swee’Pea.

3. Employee Transfer (Season 5, Episode 6)

While the Halloween portion of the episode was very short, it still made an impression. Dwight, Creed, and Kevin all dress up as the Joker, while Pam is the only one dressed up in the New York office. She has to keep her costume on all day because she greased her mustache on her face. The best part though is Jim’s costume where he just puts a name tag on that says, Dave.

4. Spooked (Season 8, Episode 5)

This may be the first Halloween episode without Michael, but it still has the classic parts of an Office Halloween episode. Some of my favorite costumes include Erin as the Wendy’s logo girl, Pam as a kangaroo and Meredith as Kate Middleton. This episode also includes is some somewhat scary things including a creepy home video by Gabe, ghost stories and Robert California telling a story with everyone’s fears in it. The best part, however, is Toby, Kelly, and Gabe wearing matching skeleton costumes and performing a dance!

5. Here Comes Treble (Season 9, Episode 5)

While this episode is the lowest-ranked of the Halloween episodes, it does have some funny moments in it. One of them is Creed, covered in blood, saying that he didn’t know it was Halloween and what good timing it was. The best part of the episode comes in the opening when Dwight gets a pumpkin stuck on his head and is forced to keep it on.
