Tis the season for professors to add in extra assignments, create cumulative finals and get behind on grading. However, it’s also the holiday season and as a college student, it isn’t always easy to balance the stress of school and the excitement of all the winter festivities. Here are some tricks and tips to not only make it through finals week but to also enjoy the winter season.

1. Voyage outside and admire all the bright Christmas lights

Every year, Boston gets all decked out in lights and decor. You can never go wrong with venturing out with friends and admire the massive Christmas tree and snap some cute pictures.

2. Ice skating at frog pond

Whether you are a novice or an expert, ice skating is fun for everyone. It’s a great way to destress and hopefully work off some holiday treats.

3. Take a break from studying and watch a holiday movie

Sometimes you need to just take a mental break, cozy up with a warm blanket, and watch Kevin McCallister torture two burglars.

4. Drink hot cocoa and while making a gingerbread house

5. Visit Target’s 1 dollar section for festive decorations

Target is always a go-to when you are burnt out or want to procrastinate. Not only can you find cute and sweet gifts and decorations, but you can also stay on budget and still  afford takeout during finals week.

6. Have a yankee swap with friends

Yankee swaps are a great excuse to leave your work and see your friends before everyone goes away for break. You can add hot cocoa and music to really make it feel like the holiday season.
