The Essential 7 Festive Songs to Help You Get Through Finals Week

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Simmons chapter.

There are only a few weeks left of the semester before students at Simmons can enjoy the much needed and deserved Winter Break. Finals week is already filled with stress and pressure, so here are 7 festive holiday covers (and originals!) from some of your favorite artists. The list is below plus the link to the playlist!

  1. Let It Snow- Kacey Musgraves and The Quebe Sisters

Kacey Musgraves Christmas album is essential listening. However, this one specifically is a favorite. Her cover of Let It Snow is undoubtedly my favorite cover and provides a great introduction to winter and the festive season!

  1. Santa Tell Me- Ariana Grande

2018 has just been the year of Ariana Grande. Of course I included her certified bop Santa Tell Me. The video is a classic on it’s own but it is definitely a great song to listen to during a study break.

  1. Mistletoe- Justin Bieber

Justin Bieber provides the 3rd song on these festive bops lineup. Once Mistletoe starts playing, you know that the holiday season is upon us! A great sing along with your friends, of course this song was included.

  1. Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas- Sam Smith

Sam Smith and holiday music? It must be a dream come true!

  1. Last Christmas – Carly Rae Jepsen

A true pop queen returns with her cover of Last Christmas. The holiday season wouldn’t be complete without Carly Rae bringing her saxophones and certified pop anthems. Break out the dance moves!

  1. Winter Wonderland- She & Him

She & Him provide a great cover of Winter Wonderland. It makes me want to ditch my finals all together and grab a hot cup of cocoa and sit next to a fire.

  1. It’s the Most Wonderful Time of the Year- Sleeping at Last

This festive song is definitely the song to listen to when you need a nice break from writing that research paper or practicing that presentation. It’s nice, calm, and dreamy.

You can get through this finals season! Remember to take breaks when needed and blast these fun holiday anthems. You can do it!
