Imagine: It’s a Friday night, and you’re hanging with your friends. You’re looking for something to watch…..but you can’t decide? Then check out this list of my top television series recommendations.

Gilmore Girls/Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life

Many of you may have already heard of this series before the posting of this article. Regardless, this is one series that can be watched over and over again by people of all ages. With its quippy one-liners and mentions of popular icons/trends over the past decade and beyond, Gilmore Girls will give viewers hours of laughter that will leave you in stitches long after the credits role. You can watch all seven seasons now on Netflix, and there is even a four-episode revival.

The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel

Since we mentioned Gilmore Girls, it is only right that we discuss another series by the same producers. The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel embodies the same fast-paced repartee that Gilmore fans love. Seasons one & two are free to watch on Prime Video, with the third slated for release this year. The age limit is at least 13+ due to mature humor.

Wolfblood

Season one was aired during Halloween on Disney. Wolfblood is a show based in the UK about – of course – werewolves. This is a perfect series for younger viewers who want something supernatural yet quick to watch around Halloween. However, you don’t have to wait until October to watch. Seasons one through four are free on Prime Video, with season five coming soon.

Teen Wolf

Teen Wolf is another series that is popular among the younger demographic viewers. The main character is a teenage boy who was turned into a werewolf. This is available on Prime Video for your viewing pleasure.

Supernatural

For fans of Gilmore Girls, Dean will automatically be recognized as Jared Padalecki in his new role as Sam Winchester. This show is available on Netflix, and is still putting out new episodes to this day. As the title suggests, the show features Sam and Dean (Jenson Ackles) hunting supernatural creatures as part of the “family business” started by their father. The show is in its 14th season.

Shadowhunters

Shadowhunters is similar to our number five pick in that supernatural beings exist in our world. Based off the popular Mortal Instrument novels by young adult author Cassandra Clare, the series finished the second half of its third and final season earlier this year. As Jace says in the very first episode, “All the legends are true.”

Reign

For those who are looking for something a bit more “historical,” we have a fabulous show called Reign. To put it simply, it surrounds the early adventures of Mary, Queen of Scotts and her time in French Court. This is the perfect time to catch up on this series as there are only three seasons and the episodes are all on Netflix. They are informative, entertaining, and quick to watch. This is a great choice for people who like shows like Merlin and Arrow.

ONCE Upon a Time

For fans of storybook fairytales, look no further than ONCE Upon A Time! In this series, the fairytale characters we all know and love come to life and live in our world. This series is currently in its seventh season, and the episodes are all available on Netflix.

Voltron: Legendary Defender

Giant mechanical lions that fly in space? Um…yes please! This was a Netflix original series that just brought out its eighth and final season towards the end of 2018. It is a personal favorite of mine, and the episodes are so quick that you might even finish an entire season or two within as little as two days! It packs in a lot of action and feathers voice actors Kimberly Brooks, Josh Keaton, Bex Taylor-Klaus, and more.

That is all for this edition of “My Recommendations”! Stay tuned for the next installment.
