Three Reasons Why You Should Still be Using Pinterest Throughout Your College Career

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Siena chapter.

When I first came across the magical world of Pinterest, I was in middle school. I thought it was the coolest site in the world, specifically because it was the only form of social media that my mother approved of. For hours, I would sit at my computer or use my phone as I created as many Pinterest boards I could imagine! From making boards dedicated to phone cases to learn how to cook a cake in a cup, Pinterest truly has it all! Even now, during my junior year of college, I still use my Pinterest account just as much as I use my Instagram or Twitter and here are three reasons why!

It’s Full of Inspiration!

We all have days when the world just seems to keep throwing punches, and life is feeling every bit as chaotic as you could ever imagine and more. All you need is a little inspiration to get you through the day and then you’ll be able to make it. Well, Pinterest is the place to go for all things uplifting! From quotes about college struggles to helpful articles about how to be happy, you’ll be sure to find the perfect thing to make you smile!

It has an Educational Value

Let me be honest here, Pinterest helped me pass the SAT’s, graduate high school, write an exploratory essay and keep me from stressing over just how much information I really lost between the summer before college and the beginning of the first semester of my freshman year! With links and blog posts about how to write even write a cover letter or write a letter of resignation. Essentially, it’s impossible to stop learning when you have Pinterest right at your fingertips!

It has Everything You Never Knew You Needed to Know About and More!

Pinterest is the cure for boredom! One click and you enter a world full of knowledge about things you probably would have never cared to learn about until Pinterest placed it on your home feed! There is no limit to the amount of ideas you’ll discover that will make you believe that you are in fact the most creative person in the world who can D.I.Y just about anything and everything! You don’t need to be a professional to cook the best tasting cake in a cup when you have a blog post on Pinterest that suggests it’s as easy as pie! It doesn’t matter if you don’t need to make a cake in a cup, what matters is that it’s cool, it’s fun, and it’s information that will always just stay in the back of your mind for no reason at all.

Overall Pinterest can be your buddy, counselor, and teacher that will guide you through life and keep you from falling flat on your face, chipping your tooth, and being left with an ugly scar that will stay with you forever! Especially while you try and make it to graduation!
