Halloween is this week and you are probably wondering, “what am I going to be when Halloween is in less than 7 days?” Buying a costume with a college budget is difficult. Costumes these days are expensive, so why waste the money when  you are probably only going to wear it once? Below are some affordable costumes that you can create by incorporating clothes and accessories that are most likely in your closet!

1)   Ninja: Wear all black! Black shirt, black pants, black gloves and black boots. For the mask, take a black men’s t-shirt and flip it inside out. Where you usually put your head through the hole, place over your face instead, having only your eyes peaking through. Take the sleeves and wrap them behind.  Tie to secure. Let the rest of the shirt flow behind and make sure your eyes are visible. For makeup, wear black, dramatic eyeliner and false eyelashes.

2)   Cowgirl/Cowboy: Wear a flannel, jeans or khakis, riding boots (or if you have some, cowboy boots) and a cowboy hat. For makeup, go natural! Use a tad of mascara, light pink blush and a glossy pink lip-gloss.

3)   Nerd/Teacher: Wear a button up shirt (any color), dress pants and some closed toe high heels. If you have know anyone with suspenders, wear those as well! For accessories, wear glasses and some basic jewelry. For makeup, wear plenty of mascara, pink blush and red lipstick.

4)   Football player/Baseball Player: Wear a jersey or a teams t-shirt, pants (preferably white), high socks and sneakers. For accessories, bring a glove or a ball. For makeup, try a brown smokey eye! Keep the lips natural if you do attempt this.

5)   M&M/Skittle: Wear predominantly one color. Print out the logo that is on the candy and place this over your chest. Use tape so that you can reuse the shirt again. For accessories, why not hand out some of the candy! For makeup, find an eyeliner color that matches the color candy you choose on your upper lash line. Apply a generous amount of mascara and for a more dramatic look, apply false eyelashes! For lips and cheeks, use a soft pink or nude.
