Jillian Madocs ’19 – Her Campus Siena Profile Editor

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Siena chapter.

Ever wonder who the wonderful ladies are behind the Her Campus Siena articles? This year you’ll find out! Check back in every now and then for our profiles of each member of the amazing Her Campus Siena team.

Name: Jillian Madocs

Year: 2019 / Junior

Major: Environmental Studies with minors in Political Science and Writing & Communications

Hometown: Eastchester, NY

HC Siena: Why did you choose your major?

JM: I’ve always been passionate about the environment and conservation efforts…and I just want to save the world!

HC Siena: Why did you want to get involved with Her Campus Siena?

JM: Writing is something that I love to do in my leisure time, and I wanted to be able to project my thoughts and ideas to people my own age.

HC Siena: What is your favorite part of working with Her Campus?

JM: As an editor, being able to examine other team members’ individual writing styles. In addition, I’m a profile editor, so it’s always interesting to see why writers choose their interviewees and read about their relationships with one another.

HC Siena: Out of all the articles you have written, which one is your favorite and why?

JM: The interview I conducted with the Residence Director of my building– it was fun to be able to meet with her and get to know information that most other people don’t!

HC Siena: What is something that makes you happy?

JM: Obnoxiously singing along to 2000s throwbacks.

HC Siena: What would your memoir be called and why?

JM: “Why Did I Do That? An Autobiography”. I think the title is pretty self-explanatory.

HC Siena: If you were stranded on an island, what three things would you bring?

JM: Coconut oil, a Sudoku book, and a machete.

HC Siena: If you could choose a mentor, who would it be?

JM: Lauren Singer, founder of The Simply Co.

HC Siena: Why do you think everyone should read Her Campus Siena?

JM: Because we’re your guide to life!
