I Listened to Music Around The World and This Is What I Learned

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Siena chapter.

It’s really easy for us as to get caught up in the rap controversies and daily pop drama centered in the United States, but there is so much music that we often forget about or overlooked. Instead of listening to the same old playlist over and over again, I decided to listen to make a short playlist of different types of music from around the world and listen to that for a day. Here are some of my favorites and highlights from around the world.

I’ve learned that there are so many good songs out there that have so much more meaning and richness of history than recent rap music. It not only reflects different cultures, but allows outsiders to learn about it through the music. Music ultimately has the potential to bring us all together peacefully, we all just have to take the time to listen to one another.

The playlist I made can be found here with a few extra songs: World Music

Happy listening!
