How to Shed Your Midsection During Midterms Week

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Siena chapter.

We all know it’s difficult maintaining a diet plan and workout regimen while residing on your typical college campus. By the time exams roll around, it may seem as if your physical health, along with your mental health is spiraling down the communal shower drain. Although stress eating and devoting long hours to a chair in the library appear to remedy academic stress, just because its midterms week doesn’t mean your mid section has to suffer. Exercise not only keeps the body keen and strong, but dynamic movements naturally refresh and clear the mind of stress. Since you most likely won’t be able to find time to make it to the gym during this hectic period, the attached routine can be performed in the comfort of your own dorm room even while you study. Now you can watch that number on the scale drop without having your GPA plummet.

**These are all fairly generic and common workouts, but if you aren’t sure how one is performed, type it into Google images for a step-by-step breakdown.

While Studying Vocab…

-For every term you get correct do 5 victory jumping jacks

-For every word you get wrong perform 3 burpees (trust me, after a few sets of these you will be determined to know each word inside and out)

While Memorizing Facts…

– For every detail you know, perform 3 tricep dips using the chair your studying on

– For every piece you can’t seem to get down, literally get down give 3 push-ups

While Solving Math or Any Other Kinds of Problems…

-For every problem you get right perform 3 fire hydrants

-For every problem that just doesn’t seem to add up, perform 5 glute bridges

When you’re done studying out of a text book….

-Do 30 Russian twists with the textbook in hand to firm your core after strengthening your mind

Once you feel like you’ve had enough cramming for one day, try going for a walk or run around with a friend to feel completely refreshed and de-stressed. Good luck!
