In college, it’s inevitable that there will be days where you wake up with less than fifteen minutes to get to a class. Maybe you do not mind rocking the sweats and messy bun look, but if you’re anything like me, sometimes grabbing makeup to cover up how tired you really are is a must. The main problem with this, however, is that what can you really do with so little time? Frankly, that’s a personal question based on your own skills and preferences; yet, there are some things that novice and pro alike should reconsider applying in a time crunch.

1.     Full Face Foundation

Although you should always start on a clean canvas, or face in this case, five minutes does not allot you this luxury. Best-case scenario is to use some concealer on any problem areas you may have. If you have break out acne, use a concealer that has color correcting green to neutralize it.  If you have a more prominent skin condition that you just can’t leave to concealer, invest in a light power foundation that can go on in a minute flat.

2.     Liquid Liner

So some girls are able to always show up to class with perfectly applied liquid liner everyday. Most, with years of practice or just really good YouTube tutorials, come in with the perfect wing that screams “on fleek” but you, my rushed friend, do not have this option. No matter if you are one of these masters of eyeliner, the rushed jitters from having to get through the morning routine leaves too much opportunity for a smudgy mistake that could cost you valuable time. Instead, resort to a pencil liner that’s easier to control or even forgoing eyeliner all together. Really, one day without the signature wings will not make the difference.

3.     Lip Liner

This particular exclusion is debatable. While lip liner is, by no means, a difficult or time-consuming thing to apply in the morning, there are better alternatives. Instead of going for the Kylie Jenner pouty lip, use a tinted lip balm and maybe use that extra time to make sure your not sprinting to class.

4.     Bronzer

Another beauty tool that may not apply to any but the most serious of makeup connoisseurs, bronzer is nice, but really not needed when one is in a rush. Too many times do you see a rushed attempt at trying to contour those check bones, only to think they should have wiped that muddy mess off their faces. Ultimately, its better to forgo the possible risk and just work some natural blush to add color to your face.

In the end of it, really, you don’t even need makeup. If you woke up like this, you’re flawless anyways; however, if you do feel the need for a little boost of compact confidence, then just make sure to avoid these doomed traps of time and mistakes. No one really notices a lack of makeup in an early morning class but they probably will notice a poor attempt.
