If you were part of the first wave of the wallet-chain, heavy-eyeliner trends of the early 2000’s; some news broke on September 10 that might have you hunting down your old customized Converse.

Green Day, Fall Out Boy, and Weezer announced their Hella Mega Tour on Tuesday, where they’ll be touring together (along with California ska band the Interrupters) next summer. They’ll be starting in Europe, but for Siena students will be coming as close as Citi Field in New York City and Fenway Park in Boston.

Besides just announcing the tour, all three bands blessed us with new singles in case anyone needed a reminder that no, rock’s not dead and yes, all these bands are “still a thing!”

Fall Out Boy’s “Dear Future Self (Hands Up)” ft. Wyclef Jean throws in some surfer-style guitar reminiscent of their 2015 hit “Uma Thurman” without feeling like it’s moving backwards. Over the last few years it’s seemed like Fall Out Boy has tried to adapt to new music trends to varying success, but this new single does a great job of doing this while still feeling like Fall Out Boy.

If Fall Out Boy is trying to move with the times, Weezer seems to do almost the exact opposite. Their new single “The End of the Game” will be featured on their upcoming album Van Weezer and well, if the album name doesn’t clue you in enough to the new sound, expect plenty of 80’s hair metal-style guitar riffs

Green Day is coming back from the longest break, with their last full album Revolution Radio having come out back in 2016. The higher vocals and overall feel of the song feels almost like if Portugal. The Man’s “Feel It Still” was just a touch more punk, which makes sense, since Green Day said in a tweet that lyrically the new record is “like a party and lifestyle of not giving a fuck. The life AND death of the party. Not political. Surviving in chaos.”

“Hella Mega” was absolutely the right choice to describe this tour. With some of the biggest names of modern rock coming together for a stadium-only tour, there’s no doubt that it’ll be the rock event of the summer.
