Whether she’s helping new Siena students as a SAINT or competing as the junior captain of the Equestrian Team, Alex always has a smiling face and is a joy to all of those around her.

HC Siena: You are very involved on campus. What are some of your favorite clubs and activities?
AV: I have been a SAINT for the past two years and I love being a volunteer and helping others. I am the junior captain of the Equestrian Team and a member of Psalm 150, which is a part of student music ministry on campus. I volunteer at Joseph’s House & Shelter and really try to make a positive difference in others’ lives.
HC Siena: What’s your inspiration for helping so many people and staying so positive?
AV: My family is incredibly important to me and I wouldn’t be where I am today without their continual support and encouragement. My favorite quote is by Anatole France and she says, “Each one of us has a fire in our hearts for something; it is our job in life to find it and keep it lit.” I try to live my life by this saying.
HC Siena: How can someone get involved in any of the clubs you participate in on campus?
AV: If someone wants to get involved they should definitely attend a meeting. Everyone is extremely kind and we love when people are excited about working together. They can message me to learn more about these activities or anyone else they know that is a part of them. At Siena it is really easy to get involved!
HC Siena: You are someone who really loves Siena. How did you come to love life here?
AV: I have some of the best friends anyone could ever ask for and I couldn’t wish for a better boyfriend. All of this is possible because of Siena College. It is such an amazing place that it’s hard not to love!
HC Siena: What are some of your goals after Siena College?
AV: I hope to teach elementary special education someday and make a positive difference is someone’s life. My main goal is to help as many people as possible and to be a happy and positive person!
