5 Thoughts in a Communal Shower

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Siena chapter.

We all know the adjustments of moving into college: new roommate, different food, classes, and the dreaded communal bathroom. There is no doubt sharing a bathroom with your whole hallway, or if you’re lucky, your entire floor can be quite gross. Here are some thoughts you might experience when taking a shower in a communal bathroom.

1. Why is there so much hair on the walls?

There’s nothing quite like seeing the variety of hair colors and lengths that is wiped all over the walls of the shower stall.

2. Why is there so much hair on the ground?

Speaking of the hair on the walls, have you ever noticed the clumps of hair on the ground that doesn’t get washed into the drain?

3. How do people not wear shower shoes?

No one likes to stand in other people’s clumps of hair, yet believe it or not, some people do actually shower in the communal showers barefoot.

4. How do I shave my legs in here?

When you look down to notice all the hair on the ground, you probably are going to notice that there is a considerable about of hair on your legs as well. But, how are you supposed to shave your legs in the shower?

5. This is going to be a cold walk back to the dorm room.

After a warm shower, the last thing you want to do is to take the crisp walk back to your dorm.
