4 Ways to Relax Over Easter Break

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Siena chapter.

After the academic “March Madness” of midterms, Easter break is met by us Saints with an unexpected wave of relief. The excitement of going home and getting away from campus for a couple of days ovwhelms us, even if being home as nothing particularly special in store for us. Here are 4 ways to get the most relaxation out of this mini break that will leave you prepared for the last stretch of the semester.

1. Catch up on your Netflix shows.

So maybe, like myself, you made the poor decision of starting some major show like House of Cards right in the midst of all your midterms assignments. If not much is going on for you this break, it is the perfect time to fulfill your bining urges and marathon through a season. If you’re all caught up, this would be the perfect time to start a new show!

2. Spend time with family and friends.

It is easier to spend time with family on shorter breaks because events are crammed into a shorter period of time. Remember that Easter is a holiday, and many parents would kill to have their kids home this weekend! Sure it hasn’t been three months since we last saw our parents but use this time to catch up with them regardless, fill them in onr your plans for the summer and ask for their advice on the practicallity of your goals. Now is also the time when Siena makes up four our random “Spring Break” by giving us this weekend that may coincinde with the breaks of our hometown friends. Be sure to make some time to catch up with them, as this mix of seeing family and friends proves the perfect preview for this summer.

3. Treat Yo’ Self: Hometown Edition.

Whether it be a cheat meal at your favorite restaurant, a new outfit from a local store or splurging on a fancy night out, remind yourself that this is a one time treat! After all the work you have been doing, I don’t think it should take much to convince yourself.

4. Spend some quality time with your planner.

I know that at the moment thinking about the rest of your semester may sound like the most stressful thing imaginable, but think about how much worse it will be to have assignment creep on you when you’re back at school and have no time set apart for planning? I suggest mapping out your final assignments and tests now, set up a tentative study schedule and think about how you will wrap your time up at internships or jobs you will have to leave at the end of the semester.

Rest up Saints! The best and most trying parts of the semester are yet to come!
