Photo Tutorial: How To Stay Cozy and Chic

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Ship chapter.

I don’t know about anyone else, but I have a hard time waking up in the morning.  I deal with long, stressful days that turn inevitably into long stressful nights. To save time in the cold Shippensburg mornings, I discovered a few styling hacks to keep comfy, warm, and stylish on campus without having to go through your entire beauty routine.  Here are few ways to still look cute on campus in just leggings or yoga pants, no need to break out your best jeans.

Girly Girl CozyThe girly girl always wants to look cute and fresh.  This is sometimes hard when you have bags under your eyes longer than your hair.  Here, I have featured a pair of black leggings from Old Nay, a light gray maxi-knit sweater from Target and a white v-neck t-shirt from Victoria’s Secret. The point to this look is to appear laid back while still having your outfit appear styled and put together.  In order to complete this look I added two gold necklaces from Target.  It gives the outfit a little bling without being too dramatic.

Boho ComfortableI love the earthy tones, the turquoise accessories, and fringed bags of a boho look  What’s great about this look is that everything is supposed to appear under styled and laid back; with a sort of, “I just threw this on” look.   Again, I have featured a pair of black Old Navy Leggings, an over-sized flannel from Urban Outfitters and a long gray tank from H&M.  To give this boho look a little flare I added a vintage gold watch and some gold rings to stack on your fingers.

Athletic and Laid BackI commend any girl athletes on college campuses.  They run (sometimes literally!) from home to practice to class to practice to class to home and back.  They handle their homework and part-time jobs if necessary and from the ones I have met, they all have killer GPAs too.  Because their lives and schedules are so hectic they need a look that says, “I am an athlete, I am strong, but I still care about how I layer my clothing.” Here I have featured a black pair of Old Navy Leggings, a slouchy cotton pull-over from Kohl’s and a black winter vest from Lands End.  I also added a white and gray headband to keep fly-away hairs out of your face and some hair ties.  The female athlete can never have enough hair ties.

I am currently a senior attending Shippensburg University where I am a Communication/Journalism major and an English minor. My roommates and I are living our senior year to the fullest and stirring up trouble on campus! I am a realist, a feminist (not the extreme type), a shoe lover, and a beauty blogger. My drink of choice at the bar is cranberry and vodka and it has been said that I am some what of a coffee addict. I love writing and photography and was able to put these talents to use at my internship this past summer with Susquehanna Style Magazine. I am also the Editor-in-Chief of my campus's student run newspaper, The Slate. All in all, I love fun times, friends and fashion. Let me know what you think of my articles! Much love, XOXO
