HC: What activities are you involved with on campus? NN: I’m President of the Residence Hall Association (RHA), a New Student Orientation Leader, an Alumni Ambassador, a peer mentor in the Honors Program, an intern in Housing and Residence Life for the Living Learning Communities, and a writing tutor in the learning center. I am also completing undergraduate research and am a member of Psi Chi, Colleges Against Cancer, and the National Residence Hall Honorary (NRHH).

HC: What made you decide to run for Homecoming Queen? NN: I ran for homecoming queen because I thought it would be an amazing, once in a lifetime opportunity on campus and because I was very interested in helping fundraise for an organization that does so much for our community.

HC: What was going through your mind when you won?NN: It took me a minute to realize what had happened but I was very grateful to the student body and all of my friends and family that supported me throughout the entire process.

HC:What are your plans for after graduation? NN:I am currently applying to graduate schools for masters programs in higher education administration and college student personnel and hope to enter a program in fall 2015.

HC: If you could be Queen of any country which would it be? NN: I feel likeNew Zealand would be an awesome place to be a queen. The geography of the country is amazing and there are a lot of cool outdoors activities to get involved with there!

Sarah is the founding editor of Her Campus Ship. She graduated in May 2015 with a B.A. in communication/journalism and a minor in international studies. During her undergrad career she completed a fashion internship at Girls' Life magazine and an editorial internship at Redbook magazine. After graduation, she is headed to Istanbul and Venice to write about food and culture as an intern in iei Media's foreign reporting program. Upon returning to the states, she plans on pursuing a career in publishing.
