5 Ways to Transition to Fall

By Jessica Malick

October is finally here, which means the leaves are changing colors and the weather is getting cooler. Here are five simple ways to transition your wardrobe so that it is looking perfect for the season!

1. Boots, boots, boots

Boots are one of the easiest ways to transition your wardrobe into fall. Whether you choose riding boots, ankle booties or cowgirl boots, they are sure to be comfortable and keep your outfit looking super cute for the fall time!

(American Eagle Outfitters, $59.96)

(Sole Society, $44.98)

2. Layers on layers

Layers are also another very easy way to transition your outfit from summer to fall. You can take a summer outfit and easily turn it into a fall one by adding a flannel, sweatshirt or tights!

3. Make a statement

Adding a fall-like statement necklace can instantly turn your outfit into one that’s ready for the season. Scarves will do the same thing (while keeping you warm)!

(Target, $19.99)

(Kohl’s, $23.99)

4. Bags are a girl’s best friend

Switching up your school bag and/or purse is another simple way to transition your outfits. Having separate bags for the spring/summer and fall/winter keeps your outfits looking well put-together.

(Kate Spade, $348)

5. Fall shades

The final – and probably simplest – way to transition your wardrobe into fall is just by wearing fall colors! Deep shades of reds, yellows, oranges and browns are the perfect colors to choose for your fall wardrobe.

My name's Jessica, but most people call me Jess! I'm from a small town in Lancaster, PA. I'm obsessed with country music, puppies, shopping and football! I'm currently a junior at Shippensburg University and I'm majoring in Communications/Journalism with an emphasis in Public Relations and minoring in Business. I love my school and love being super involved with it! I'm currently on the executive board of my amazing sorority Alpha Phi, the assistant PR director for Ship's student newspaper The Slate, a member of PRSSA and of course am a blogger/writer for HerCampus. I would someday love to work for a PR firm in either the beauty or fashion industry, but right now I'm just enjoying college. Thanks for reading! - Jess
I'm Nicole! Nikki, Nic, anything you want to call me really. I'm from south-eastern Pennsylvania and I love life and beauty. Whenever I'm not writing or taking pictures for my blogs or social media accounts, you can find me (hopefully) at the beach surfing, traveling, making new friends and seeing new places. I'm in love with people I've never met and places I've never been to. I am currently a Senior (!!!) at Shippensburg University, majoring in Communications Journalism (focusing in Public Relations) and minoring in Psychology. I would love to work for a PR firm with advertising, event planning and perhaps a chance to travel. Thanks for reading!! - Nicole
