10 Reasons Why Every Girl Wants to be BFFs with Taylor Swift

By: Marina Barnett

It’s no secret that Taylor Swift and her famous “squad” made tons of headlines this summer and continue to what seems like constantly. With all of the attention on the famous girl’s pals, it got a lot of us thinking, “I wish I was BFFs with Tay!” But why do we all want to be best friends with Taylor Swift? Here are a few reasons…

  1. She bakes… all the time.

Taylor Swift loves to bake when she hangs out with her girlfriends. Swifty snickerdooldes? Count us in!

  1. She’s not afraid to dance like a fool.

Not many of us are blessed with the “dancing” gene. Luckily, dancing is one thing that Taylor isn’t insanely talented at either… but she sure does make it look like a ton of fun when she’s in the crowd of awards shows. So fun, that we all want to join in on the party!

  1. She has a plethora of crop tops in her closet to borrow.

Everyone knows that Tay owns the crop top trend, so wouldn’t it be awesome to stop by and raid her collection before going out?

  1. Her parties are always on point.

Taylor is famous for throwing amazing, classy parties that anyone would be lucky to attend. She always pulls out all the stops– for July Fourth she treated all of her guests to American flag onesies. Maybe she’ll get everyone glow in the dark Halloween pajamas!

  1. Cat-sitting opportunities.

With your bff traveling all over the world, singing to sold out arenas, there would be plenty of time to watch over her two adorable cats, Olivia Benson and Meredith Grey!

  1. Free vacation destinations.

Taylor has multiple beautiful homes in all different locations. Want a weekend getaway to Nashville? She can hook you up. A romantic stay in Paris? Taylor’s got your lodging covered!

  1. She’ll write songs about you (if you’re lucky).

T. Swizzle is known for writing songs about exes, but friends? Yes. Taylor wrote the song “Fifteen” for her best friend Abbigail. Her album, 1989 has a song called “You are in Love” that she wrote about her friends, Lena Dunham and Jack Antonoff’s relationship . It is rumored that Taylor will perform it at their wedding.  Who doesn’t want their best friend to write a song about your relationship and then serenade you with it?

  1. She always brings her squad on tour with her.

Whether you’re a supermodel or middle-aged actress, nothing stops Taylor from bringing her closest friends to grace the 1989 Tour stage with her while she sings.

  1. She can hook you up with any of her hot ex boyfriends.

Taylor may have “a long list of ex lovers,” but they are all quite attractive. Luckily, she still gets along with many of them and is even willing to play match-maker to her friends. Take her setting up her best friend and model Gigi Hadid and ex-boyfriend Joe Jonas. Yes, being best friends with Taylor would be a match made in Heaven!

  1.  She’s generous.

Taylor has been known to donate money to fans that are sick, and to even surprise fans with presents. Recently, she donated $50,000 to a back-up dancer’s nephew who has cancer. Last year, she surprised fans with gifts for “Swiftmas” and even delivered presents to one fan and her son.  It is always nice to have a friend who will help out when times get tough.

Whenever I'm not writing or taking pictures for my blogs or social media accounts, you can find me (hopefully) at the beach surfing, traveling, making new friends and seeing new places. I'm in love with people I've never met and places I've never been to. I am currently a Senior (!!!) at Shippensburg University, majoring in Communications Journalism (focusing in Public Relations) and minoring in Psychology. I would love to work for a PR firm with advertising, event planning and perhaps a chance to travel. Thanks for reading!! - Nicole
