A Week of Effortless Outfits for Back to School

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at SFU chapter.

Another semester has snuck up on us again, but don’t worry if you’re unprepared, I’ve got you covered with the easiest ways for you to look totally put together and on top of your game this semester. Here is a week’s worth of effortlessly cute outfits that you can totally rock on campus this semester!

Monday: The Blanket Scarf

Everybody dreads those Monday morning classes, so why not feel like you haven’t even left your bed while you’re sitting in lecture. The blanket scarf is very trendy but also very practical for a university student. In my opinion, scarves are the easiest way to add some colour and texture into a simple outfit. Also, if it’s a little chilly in your lecture hall, just wrap it around yourself like a blanket! Trust me, everyone in your Monday classes will be totally jealous.

Tuesday: The Statement Backpack/Purse

Another easy way to accessorize a simple outfit, is to let your bag do the work for you! Try out a statement backpack or purse for a splash of colour or pattern in your wardrobe. This also works great for those of us whose closets consist of 99% black clothing. All you need is one statement bag to look like you know what you’re doing when it comes to fashion.

Wednesday: The Tall Boots

So trendy, and so cute! Although we all love a good, short Chelsea boot, this semester it’s time to switch things up with some tall statement boots. Suede or leather style boots are very trendy this winter season, and make any outfit look chic with minimal effort – which I know us university students appreciate!

Thursday: The Skirt

I believe skirts are too underappreciated when it comes to fashion. Skirts can turn any outfit from basic to stylish so easily, and honestly, they are usually way more comfortable than your plain old skinny jeans. Instead of slipping on the same pair of jeans or leggings that you wear every other day, try out a skirt, and I guarantee it will make any outfit much cuter. For the colder months, I recommend thicker fabric for skirts. Try out a jean, plaid or hound’s-tooth print skirt for the winter months.

Friday: The Cozy Jackets/Hoodies

Ah, we’ve made it to Friday! After a long week back at school, you’re probably looking for the comfiest outfit you can find in your closet…and I have just the outfit for you! If you have been to any mall recently, you have probably noticed that many stores are carrying big fuzzy jackets or hoodies. These are the easiest way to achieve that “comfy but cute” look – and I’m totally obsessed! I’m hoping this trend stays around for a long time because they are definitely the coziest clothing pieces that I own, and perfect to wear on campus!
