In preparation for Christmas break or holiday presents for all of the avid readers out there, here are the top 4 books you need to put on your wish list! All of the books on this list will be released on October 11th, 2016!

 

​1. Small Great Things by Jodi Picoult 

Genre: Contemporary Adult

This new release by acclaimed author Jodi Picoult follows Ruth, an African American doctor who is faced with a moral dilemma when a racist family refuses to allow Ruth to touch their sick child.  But when a close call occurs with the child being in danger, with Ruth being the only one able to save it, what will she do?

 

2. Hag-Seed by Margaret Atwood 

Genre: Fiction, Retelling

In Atwood’s newest novel, Felix accepts a job at a local prison where he is to teach the convicts how to read by using drama and theatre. As the play comes together, it is clear that Felix has a twist in mind for his actors as his fantasty daughter decides to unexpectedly pay a visit.

 

​3. Who Killed These Girls? A Twenty Five Year History of Austin’s Yogurt Shop Murders by Beverly Lowry

Genre: Nonfiction Crime

An overarching look at a murder that occurred in 1991 at a Texas yogurt parlor where four girls where found naked, gagged, and shot in the head. Two men were tried and eventually overturned, but how did it all get to this point, and what lies ahead?
