3 Cheap Dates for Valentine’s Day in Vancouver

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at SFU chapter.

With Valentine’s Day quickly approaching, it’s time to start planning those dates! I narrowed down some events that are happening on Valentine’s Day that are all less than $60 per couple. It’s hard to plan a good date without breaking the bank especially living in Vancouver so hopefully one of these options will help you have a memorable day. If you don’t have a date, don’t worry! These things are definitely insta-worthy things to do with your best friend too.

Nothing is more important than chocolate, right? With Vancouver being so cold and rainy most days, nothing is more perfect than Vancouver’s 2018 Hot Chocolate Festival. The flavors of hot chocolate varies from place to place so you’ll always get to try something new. Don’t worry if your date is vegan or lactose free, there are plenty of different cafe’s participating offering something for all dietary preferences like Cartems and Earnest Ice Cream.

Takashi Murakami’s exhibit “The Octopus Eats Its Own Leg” is on display at the Vancouver Art Gallery. He’s most well known for his collaboration with Kanye West (the bear from the album Graduation) and Louis Vuitton. Tickets to see his exhibition is start at $15 per person but be sure to book them online. Going to the art gallery for Valentine’s Day definitely guarantees some cute pictures for Instagram.

If you’re a fan of the Vancouver Canucks, good news for you! Tickets to watch the Canucks play the Florida Panthers are going for $30 dollars on Stubhub right now (~$26 USD) Even if you’re not a fan and your date is, it’s a cheap way to watch a good hockey game while spending time with your Valentine!
