On March 8, Marvel released its long-awaited “Captain Marvel” movie and I have yet to see it, but here are some of the reasons why I am hyped to see it this weekend.

1. Brie Larson

Brie Larson is an amazing Oscar-winning actress and when I found out that she was going to become Captain Marvel, I was so excited to see a woman of her acting ability set to play an iconic character.

2. Girl Power

This is the first stand-alone woman superhero movie Marvel has put out. Though probably a response to DCs well received Wonder Woman, I am still expecting a kick-ass movie with a strong heroine.

3. Avengers Endgame

Everyone who saw “Avengers: Infinity War” knows that Nick Furry called Captain Marvel after the infamous scene where everyone disappears. I am eager to see the unfolding of her back story and how it will connect to “Avengers: Endgame.”

So far, the movie has an 80% on Rotten Tomatoes and a 6.6 on IMDB but I am still going to go into the movie with high hopes that this will be a great movie
