Far enough so I can’t see

I leave open every part of me

Will I ever know how safety feels?

Only God knows my desire for something real

I will keep swimming to shore

Under the waves that try to conqueror me

So I’ll wait as long as I have to, to feel you

No, I won’t let anyone else but you rescue me

I can’t give them what’s meant for you

Even if I have to watch everyone else first

And even if it hurts

Under the stars, I lay tonight, and think of you

Where their love fades, mine will last

You’ve fought many wars looking for me

Others will try, but I won’t let them hold me down

I keep swimming to shore

Under the waves that try to conqueror me

So I’ll wait as long as I have to, to feel you

No, I won’t let anyone else but you rescue me

I can’t give them what’s meant for you

Even if I have to watch everyone else first

And even if it hurts

In time I’ll be better

Maybe I’ll swim faster

When the waves come for me

In time I’ll be better

I will swim faster

And you’ll set me free

So I’ll wait as long as I have to feel you

No, I won’t let anyone else but you rescue me

I can’t give them what’s meant for you

Even if I have to watch everyone else first

And even if it hurts

Hi, my name is Alayna I love writing short stories and poetry. My favorite color is pink and I truly believe we should break out into song whenever we feel like a musical.
