What happened to all those sappy stories

Of falling in love?

What happened to poetry and music?

It’s all gone away

And how come I’m still here

With all the fantasies, I can’t enjoy it

Maybe I’m immature

Like they claim, and its hopeless

But there’s no way I’m alone

Alone in the world

What’s not about it, they’ve ruined it

Once a flame oh so sweet

Now fueled by lust, desire

I know it can’t be me

What happened to dancing with some class

With a simple touch?

What happened to waiting for a ring

Before we shack up?

It’s all gone away

And how come I’m still here

With all my opinions,

I feel so alone

Maybe I’m immature

Like they claim, and its hopeless

But there’s no way I’m alone

Alone in the world

What’s not about it, they’ve ruined it

Once a flame oh so sweet

Now fueled by lust, desire

I know it can’t be me

What happened to butterflies?

Why don’t we get nervous anymore?

What happened to a simple kiss on the cheek?

Why is sex the first step now?

What happened to compliments

Why is calling her thicc romantic?

What happened to marriage?

Why don’t we stay together anymore?

What happened to love?

Hi, my name is Alayna I love writing short stories and poetry. My favorite color is pink and I truly believe we should break out into song whenever we feel like a musical.
