A Messy Girls Guide to Keeping Things Clean

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at SFA chapter.

Anyone who knows me knows that I am the terrible at keeping my room clean and, no matter how hard I try, I always end up with clothes all over the place, shoes everywhere and an overflowing trash can. I personally like to think of it as “organized chaos” but if you want to put it bluntly it’s straight up messy. So, in the spirit of spring cleaning I’d like to share some tips on how to keep things just a little tidier.

Put It Away!

I will be the first to admit that it’s often more convenient to just leave things on the floor and worry about them later. But if you just put it away immediately you won’t have to worry about it

Designate Certain Times to Clean

I like to set a whole day aside to deep clean everything, but if you set 15 minutes aside each day it’ll help keep everything under control.

DON’T Overwhelm Yourself

It can be very daunting to try and tackle a huge mess and the feeling that you’ll never be able clean everything is very stressful. To this I say that baby steps are very important, especially if you get anxious or overwhelmed.

At the end of the day by keeping everything tidy it gives you a clear space to roam about and can cause less stress in your life.
