I Got to See BTS in Fort Worth!

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at SFA chapter.

In an earlier article, I talked about the amazing journey that was stressing out before buying tickets for the BTS concert in Fort Worth for their World Tour. Now I can discuss the amazingness that is fully experiencing BTS!

I had tickets for the Sunday (9/16) concert and when it was the day of I was very excited. My group and I woke up early that morning, wanting to get to the concert venue early because we knew that the merch line was going to be crazy. Since I was in Dallas at the time, the drive to Fort Worth was a little under 45 minutes and we made it to the convention center around 9:20. We had parked in a nearby parking garage and when we had left to go to the merch line I was very surprised to see it snake three times outside the venue before becoming one line to get in. I wasn’t expecting to see this many ARMY already in the merch line! Despite the long line, my group and I waited in the merch line, jamming out to BTS’s discography, until we got inside the venue three hours later.

What sucked was that there was even more waiting in line for us to do! What was worse was that by the time my group and I were able to get to the front of the line, almost everything we wanted was sold out! Thankfully, I was able to settle on just buying some photocards of the BTS members and a hand towel with the words “Love Yourself” on it.

After that we ate and decided to make our way to where we would eventually have to line up for the concert. Outside, in the gross humidity, were dedicated GA ticket ARMY who were jamming out and dancing to BTS songs! It was a fun to watch and it also made me feel super happy to be part of the experience that is stanning BTS.

After waiting for about 2 hours or so, we decided it was time to go in the concert venue and get our seats. Thanks to having seat tickets, we were able to get in quickly and not have to deal with the flourish of excitement rushing through the venue after the metal detector check-in.  The coolest thing about this pre-concert experience was walking up the steep steps to the inside of the convention center, hearing ARMY chant and scream loudly, with flashing Army Bombs (BTS Official Light Sticks) in the air.

We sat there for about an hour and a half before the lights dimmed and the crowd went wild (me included). And then the main seven people we all came to see, the men who we stan, BTS came out and began to perform their title track song, IDOL, from their newly released album LoveYourself: Answer. It was super surreal to see the idols who had helped me through so much with their music in person. I guess I was overwhelmed and halfway through IDOL I could feel my eyes start to water.

The concert, in short, was absolutely amazing. It is so hard to find the words to describe the amount of joy and excitement I felt being in that convention center screaming, chanting and singing along with the other 13,000ish ARMY.  Seeing BTS live was a whole other experience in itself. They, of course, sounded exactly like how the do on their albums. It is like the members ate CDs before performing because their voices were so clear and they sounded beautiful. Also, BTS are even more gorgeous in person, and it was so hard to just look at one member. It is safe to say this concert is one I will never forget!
