How to Add a Little More Spring to Your Step

When you step outside does it feel like spring? Not at all. However even though spring seems a little bit too out of reach, there are some easy ways to make your room, wardrobe, and life a little more spring prepared.

  1. Add some color into your wardrobe. With spring comes new target looks of light florals, flowy dresses, and lighter colors. Sadly, these floor length-spring goddess dresses aren’t protective from the cold and rain we have been receiving lately; however floral cardigans and sweaters and very much wearable and cute for the time being. Save the dresses for summer, it’ll be here in no time.
  2. Potted plants! Time to break out your green thumb and dust off that window sill because it is time to grow yourself a new plant. You can DIY a plant simply with a planter, some soil, and seeds or you can buy a kit from your local grocery store. If waiting for the lil’ bud to grow isn’t something you feel like waiting for, you can also buy plastic plants from Walmart or Target.
  3. Spring clean. Get ahead of the sunny weather by decluttering your space. This could be throwing out papers from last semester or getting rid of all the extra junk you have acquired over the past few weeks. Being able to get rid of all of the clutter and trash you have will really help feel more in the mood for sunshine. Plus, once it is out of the way, when the sun finally shows up you won’t be stuck inside cleaning all day.
  4. Bring out the summer makeup. After a season of wearing thick coats of foundation, mascara that had no intention of staying on during the rain, and dark lips – it’s time to break out the fresh look. Get out your SPF tinted-moisturizer, water-proof mascara and strobing look to look fresh and dewy all season. (Unless you prefer to continue going all the way with your makeup every day, which is cool too.)

When the weather decides it doesn’t want to give you the spring feeling you so desperately crave, make sure you appreciate the sunshine you do get. When the rain is gone try and spend your time outside with your friends and loved ones, a little vitamin D will really do you good.
