5 Products that No MUA Can Live Without

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at SFA chapter.

Despite the continuous release of makeup, there are just some products in your collection that can’t be replaced. After doing your makeup for so long and buying new products sometimes you just come to realize that nothing will beat that specific one. Whether it be brows, concealer, or foundation, nothing will replace your OG.

1. Anastasia Beverly Hills – Brow Wiz

The Brow Wiz is irreplaceable in many MUA’s makeup collections. With the precise applicator and the variety of shades available, nothing can beat it. According to the ABH website, you can use the Brow Wiz to, “spot-fill areas where brow hair is sparse, and the custom spooley end to blend for a flawless finish.” (http://www.anastasiabeverlyhills.com/brow-wiz/brow-wiz.html?cgid=brows#start=3&cgid=brows)

2. Tarte – Shape Tape Contour Concealer

The most full coverage concealer on the market, Tarte Shape Tape Contour Concealer has been the only thing MUA’s have been talking about, rightfully so. This concealer claims to be a, “…hydrating, longwearing formula [that] delivers natural, radiant coverage across all skin types so you can instantly brighten and cover acne, dark circles and redness while softening the look of pores and fine lines.” (http://tartecosmetics.com/tarte-item-shape-tape-contour-concealer) This concealer can definitely fulfill all of it’s claims. The best part of this concealer is the light rose scent that comes in every bottle!

3. Jeffree Star Cosmetics – Velour Liquid Lipsticks

Although not available at Ulta or Sephora, Jeffree Star’s liquid lips are something that cannot be beat. These liquid lips retail for $18 and are the least drying products that can be found. Whether you prefer nudes or bright vibrant colors Jeffree Star Cosmetics has got you covered! This product claims to, “[go] on opaque, [dry] completely matte and stays on for hours!” (https://jeffreestarcosmetics.com/collections/velour-liquid-lipstick)

4. Becca – Shimmering Skin Perfector in Opal

Every MUA has Becca’s Opal in their collection and it can always be used as a go to for perfecting any look. This highlighter retails for $38, but is definitely worth every penny.  The Shimmering Skin Perfectors claim to be a, “one-of-a-kind formula [that] blends pigments with liquids to create an unparalleled, creamy feel that applies like seamless silk and never cakes!” (https://www.beccacosmetics.com/shimmering-skin-perfector-pressed-2eeec7.html)

Be prepared to be blinded by the (high)light!

5. Kat Von D Beauty – Tattoo Liner

An all time fave by many MUA’s, Kat Von D’s tattoo liner is all anyone ever talks about. With a precise brush tip, it is so easy to create a perfect wing! This product retails for $20 and claims to be the, “magic wand of makeup,” and most everyone can agree. (https://www.katvondbeauty.com/eye/eyeliner/tattoo-liner/10016.html?dwvar_10016_color=1025#start=1) The formula lasts 24 hours and is waterproof, so your liner won’t go anywhere!
