Ultimate Sewanee Packing List

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Sewanee chapter.

For all you crazy freshies running around trying to figure out what to buy for your dorm rooms and what you need to bring, fear no more. I’ve got you. This sad-to-be rising senior has compiled a comprehensive list of what to pack. But before reading this entire list, read my advice:

DO NOT buy all of these items now for the following reasons:

  1. Until you get in your dorm room and start trying to organize what goes where, you will have no clue what you need as far as storage goes.

  2. You will have to store it at your house and then find a way to bring it all to campus.

  3. You’re bound to buy stuff you will never use or need. Wait to buy all of the basics once you get here. I promise that you will bring at least 20 things you don’t need and will forget at least one thing you do need. We might be in the middle of nowhere but we are in the middle of nowhere with a Walmart 20 minutes away.

Collaborate with your roommate on these items:

  • TV, DVD’s, Xbox, etc. (optional, remember we don’t have cable in the dorm rooms)

So good luck! And remember if you have any questions, your dorm staff and other Sewanee students are here and happy to help, myself included.
