It’s that time of year again: the time when a limited number of hand-picked celebrities attend one of the biggest fundraising balls of the year. The Met Gala is also one of the most prestigious events of the year. Anna Wintour, chairman of the Met Gala, picks and chooses who exactly gets an invitation to the ball. Once invited, you still have to fork up $30,000 to pay for your ticket, and then even more money if you want to get a table. Based on this, only the most A-list of celebrities (who haven’t pissed off Anna Wintour) are in attendance.
The Met Gala has a new theme for dress every year, honoring the Met Museum’s Costume exhibit for that year. This year, the theme was Rei Kawakubo/Comme des Garçons: Art of the In-Between. Here are some of my favorite looks from the event:
