- For those of you that thought that math was over and burned your TI-89 when you graduated high school: RealCalc is an app for your phone that gives you everything you need to get through those pesky gen-ed math requirements. The app is designed to look and operate exactly like a real hand-held calculator. It has all the standard scientific functions plus history, memories, unit conversions and constants. And it doesn’t cost 75 dollars.
- If you really need to sit down and crank out some work, SelfControl and Cold Turkey are apps that keeps you from accessing any websites you’ve added to your “blacklist.” You set the amount of time you need to be free from distractions, input which websites are tempting you, andl until that timer expires, you will be unable to access those sites–even if you restart your computer or delete the application
- We all already love the EasyBib website which takes url’s and book titles and churns out citations, but now EasyBib has an app that lets you scan a book’s barcode and then creates the citation for you in any format you need.
