Why we love Selby!
You’re one of the men’s lacrosse goalies; what’s you favorite part about playing lacrosse at Sewanee? The team is such a great group of guys that getting to play with them has been an absolute blast. The team is a nice mix of Sewanee students, so there are interactions and connections that wouldn’t be made otherwise. We also have amazing fans that are ruthless to the other teams.
You’re also in a band, tell us about that! I love playing music, so it is even better when I get to do it with three awesome dudes like Darby, Charlie, and Pipes. Its also great because Sewanee Students have an impeccable taste in music… not sure why anyone would come see us play..
You also co-founded the Sewanee Ice Hockey team, how was the first year and what’s the future look like? We had a great first season, beating Vandy and MTSU. My co-founder, Martin Davis, has really pulled the weight and been a huge part of this team. We had I think about 20 guys for the first year, and we expect the club to grow. We want a fan bus next year so students can come to the games and have beers at the rink.
What’s on your Sewanee bucket list? I really want to climb the water tower. After seeing the 70’s show episode about that I thought it deserved an homage.
