It’s time to trade in the bikinis for leggings and the flip flops for boots, cause’ fall has finally arrived! That feeling at the end of every season when you’re ready for different weather and an overall change of scenery makes the beginning of the next season that much more exciting. Don’t get me wrong, I love summer, actually more than I love fall, but I am still more than ready to embrace all that fall has to offer.
Let’s get it out of the way now; PUMPKIN SPICE. Let’s also get this out of the way: I am not a fan of pumpkin spice products. This does not make me any less of a lover of fall. It just makes me a less loyal Starbucks customer. With that being said, I can thoroughly appreciate a pumpkin spice candle, or any fall-scent for that matter just as much as the next girl. Apart from pumpkin spice, there are plenty of “basic” parts of fall that I have no shame in supporting, first and foremost being pumpkin and apple picking. There’s nothing quite like being surrounded by shades of autumn while trying to find the perfect pumpkin or apple, not to mention all of the perfect photo ops while doing so. Frankly, the pickings are just a bonus in my opinion.
Fall activities aside, fall also brings forth two very important holidays: Halloween and Thanksgiving. A time to stuff your face with turkey or candy, all while being surrounded by family and friends, what more could one ask for? For a college student, Halloween is more of an event than a holiday. It’s a weekend filled with quite a variety of costumes (some more cringe-worthy than others), and plenty of parties to show off those costumes. Thanksgiving break follows at just the right time, when a good home-cooked meal and the presence of family is just what the doctor ordered. Both of these holidays falling within autumn is just one piece of why it is a season to love.
So, for all of those fall lovers out there, you’re season to thrive has finally made its entrance. For those of you who are not as enthusiastic, put on a flannel and try your best to FALL in love with the change of the seasons.
