Walgreens: The One-Stop Shop for Your Semester Beauty Needs!

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Seton Hall chapter.

It’s time for back to school, collegiettes! We all know what that means.. shopping! We’ve all been using last semester’s foundation and mascara while stealing our parents’ toothpaste (because for a few months, we aren’t on our own), but now it’s time to go on that all-out spree to the pharmacy where we restock on all of our beauty basics. What we know and want to tell you about are all the fantastic items offered at Walgreens stores that are bound to get you through the fall semester looking fresh, beautiful and confident!

First off to make a great impression is great skin. Walgreens offers Maybelline’s Dream Fresh BB Cream. BB stands for beauty balm, which is an 8-in-1 Skin perfecting cream. Essentially, you are getting your makeup and skincare taken care of in one simple step. The specific benefits of this 8-in-1 beauty balm are that it blurs imperfections, brightens, evens skin-tone, smoothes, hydrates, enhances, and protects with SPF 30 while containing 0% oils and heavy ingredients. So many advantages to one Walgreens purchase. After washing your face in the morning, pat dry and apply the beauty balm. You’ll be ready for class, work or going out in no time flat!

Every girl needs to be confident in her smile! Colgate offers Colgate Optic products that will guarantee you feeling confident in your pearly whites! The soft, rubber whitening cups on the 360 Optic White Toothbrush hold the Optic White toothpaste in very well, and it feels comfortable on your teeth. This Optic White toothpaste will leave your smile super bright everyday. This toothpaste has the same agents that whitening strips do, with a lighter concentration of the products to keep the enamel on your teeth healthy and strong. With regular use for four weeks or more, you will notice that your teeth look and feel cleaner than with other toothpaste brands. Walgreens offers this toothbrush in soft and medium bristle strengths, as well as the Optic White toothpaste.

Besides a bright smile and bright skin, your eyes have to light up as well! Walgreens offers
Maybelline Volum’ Express The Mega Plush Mascara, which is a new gel-mousse formula that feels plush and extra soft. The patented Flexor Brush adds so much volume to your eyelashes that your beauty routine will be cut by several minutes! This mascara definitely does not clump or flake. Whether you prefer brown mascara, a brown-black, or jet black, you can use this Mega Plush mascara. It really does wonders, and every shade of it is available at Walgreens.

Whether its shaking the hand of a new professor, volunteering in class, or waving to your crush, you will certainly need great looking nails that will last through the wear and tear of your day. Neutral colors are back in style, and are always fit for fall. Essie nail polish offers several great colors in the fall palette, our favorite being Sand Tropez. This is a soft, creamy beige that is fit for work and play, matching any outfit. This nail polish is DBP, Toluene, and Formaldehyde-free, so it’s great for your nails. After clipping and buffing, start by applying 1 coat of the Essie base coat that best suits your nail needs. Follow with two coats of your favorite Essie shade, and finally top it off with one of Essie’s high performance top coats. Let it dry and you are set for days! This color and many more are offered at Walgreens locations for any of your colorful needs.

Walgreens is a fantastic one-stop place for great Colgate, Maybelline, and Essie products that will give you a quick, flawless beauty routine for a semester full of fun and confidence. Happy shopping, girls!
