Greek Week at Seton Hall

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Seton Hall chapter.

Greek week at Seton Hall is one of the most anticipated weeks in the Spring semester. With competitions every day, greek organizations team up and go head to head in efforts to be crowned the winners of greek week. Competitions like penny wars, volleyball, air band performances, crest drawing and kickball bring only the fiercest greek competitors out. Greek week’s presence is all over campus, whether it’s by the green, the U Center, or many of the auditoriums at nighttime. Many of the proceeds that are raised over the week are all directed towards relay for life, an event partnered with the American Cancer Society to honor survivors, caretakers and to remember those that have lost their lives. All of the organizations, greek or not come together on this Friday night and stay up all night to represent that since cancer doesn’t sleep, neither will we. This year $50,000 was raised by the Seton Hall community. Greek week concludes with a barbeque in which the winning team is announced, and along with the crown, these organizations win bragging rights for a whole year. Greek week is the last hoorah before finals, and everyone comes together to make it happen with immense pride for their designated affiliation. This week is a time where the campus comes alive, just as the warm weather starts after a long winter. This is one of the most anticipated and eventful weeks on campus and something everyone should look to take part in! Teamwork makes the dream work!
