It’s Saturday night (or Sunday morning) and you’ve just got back from a super fun night out
with all your friends, but now you’re starving… What’s a girl to do? Well in South Orange, the
options are endless – Greco’s, Dominos, Town Hall Deli. Okay, maybe those are really the only
ones but that’s what you need at 2 a.m.!
Town Hall Deli, the home of the infamous “Fat Sandwich” is a South Orange staple. We’ve all
been there at least once and we’ve all felt gross the next morning. The sandwiches are loaded
with the most satisfying “drunk foods” you could imagine. A great option is the “Fat Adrian,”
which is a simple sandwich containing chicken fingers, fries, bacon, cheddar cheese and barbecue
sauce… You know, the usual. Although thinking about this right now might make you feel your
waistline expanding already, this sandwich will have you salivating at 2 a.m. when you’re waiting
in the lounge with your starving friends.
And of course, coming back to campus on the SHUfly you always see the Dominos delivery car
parked outside Neumann and Cabrini. Pizza is a classic after-party hunger cure… Cheese and
bread, I mean what more could you really want? Dominos also has the ever-popular cheesy bread
and cinnamon sticks. These are really just little pieces of heaven. And after a late night out with
friends, it certainly helps in the morning to have had that to help soak up the impending hangover
the next morning.
If you’re looking for something a little more natural than the Dominos ingredients, the wonderful
South Orange Greco’s is the place for you. The major plus Greco’s has over Dominos is it stays
open until 3 a.m. on Fridays and Saturdays. This is a beautiful thing for so many of us here at
Seton Hall since many of us may not get home for food by 1 or even 2 a.m.
There’s also something about ordering food after coming back from a party that is just so college.
As cliché as that can be, think about some of the funniest conversations you’ve had with your
friends. How many of them took place over pizza in the dorm lounge or in your room? Some
of my favorite memories from these past two years at Seton Hall have been after the party and
involve laughs over the best food I’ve ever had (in the moment of course).
Although late night snacking can prove to be a little dangerous, it’s nothing a good workout the
next day can’t solve. After all, that piece of pizza or half of a sandwich could be your saving
grace in the morning. Keep on perfecting the art of South Orange snacking ladies; it’s truly the
perfect ending to any fun college night.
