2020 marks the beginning of a new decade, filled with endless possibilities. However, as all of us are currently in quarantine, there isn’t much to do right now besides binge Netflix and fantasize about the (hopefully) better days ahead of us. Yet, there is much to be said about the power of manifestation — the process by which our internalized goals and desires can become real. From envisioning a dream job to saving home inspiration on Pinterest, many of us already practice manifestation in our lives, whether we realize it or not. So with that being said, here is an easy way to elevate your visualization methods and turn your desires into reality: make a mood board! Without further ado, here’s my explanation of the magic potential you can unlock by having fun with this simple activity.

So, you may be wondering how creating a mood board has any impact on what you will attain in life. Basically, it all comes down to the Law of Attraction. In short, this is the theory that optimistic, detailed visions will magnetically draw specific experiences, people, and things into your world. When creating mood boards, the careful assembly of images, quotes and other elements you love evokes positive emotions. In turn, cultivating visuals of your deepest desires can inspire you to bring the same energy into your reality.

Now that you know the “science” of mood boards, here are some approaches you can take to design your own! By using sources like Instagram, Tumblr and Pinterest, you can find a wide array of content that sparks inspiration. From here, paste these images together in a digital document (I love to use Google Slides) and build the final product: a beautiful, powerful mood board! If you have more time on your hands, you can also achieve an amazing outcome by using magazines, if that’s more your vibe!

Once you start making mood boards, it’s hard to stop! Honestly, I make them for every occasion — to visualize vacations I want to go on, things I want to accomplish, and so much more! After you complete your masterpiece, it is best to place the mood board somewhere you will consistently see it. This way, you can unconsciously ponder your goals and dreams whenever you see the mood board, allowing yourself to further tap into a manifestation mindset. Plus, mood boards make ~ aesthetic ~ decor pieces! You really can’t go wrong with this project.

As most of us have an abundance of free time in these present moments, there’s no excuse to not try this out! Stay safe, and happy mood board-making!
