Spring break is right around the corner, and whether you are staying home or traveling, here is how to make the most of it. The first tip is: do what you actually want to do! The typical vacation involves going somewhere sunny like Miami, however, you don’t have to go there just because it’s popular. You can take a road trip with your friends, go on a ski trip, or simply have a nature-packed spring break. Whatever you decide, don’t forget the essentials: sunscreen, phone charger, and the perfect playlist!

songs for your spring break playlist:

  1. Heat Waves by Glass Animals
  2. Preacher Man by The Driver Era
  3. Daft Pretty Boys by Bad Suns
  4. Summer Days by Martin Garrix feat. Macklemore
  5. Mango by Peach Tree Rascals

traveling tips:

Tip number 1: If you plan to take a trip, always book your flights in advance, prices tend to increase if you try to book at the last minute. If you are booking closer to the date, always look for those specials directly from the airline you are choosing. Lastly, try booking your tickets midweek since prices are reduced to increase demand!

Tip number 2: Think outside the beach! If you are tired of the beach or pool, you can always try to explore the place you are in. You can go to local museums, try famous restaurants, plan a picnic, go scuba diving, visit an aquarium, or even try something extreme like parasailing! Whatever you plan to do, don’t overschedule. As tempting as it may be to try to fit in as many activities as possible, you will miss out on the relaxation portion of the trip.

Tip number 3: Have fun with your closest friends! Spring break is a time that you will hopefully remember for years to come–Instagram sure will. So don’t forget to take pictures as you go in order to keep the best memories. It is also important to point out that the quantity of friends doesn’t matter, it is all about the quality. Surrounding yourself with a few close friends that you know you will have f un with is all that matters.

If you do choose to have a staycation, why not start binging that show you’ve had on your Netflix list since forever or have a self-care day filled with facemasks, candles, and ice cream? Everyone’s view of having fun is different; for example, if reading is something you enjoy, crack open that book you’ve been waiting to read! Other options can include catching up with some friends, having a beach day, volunteering, or doing something new that you have always wanted to try. Whether that be jump-starting your career by finally getting to your resume, trying a new sport, or learning to cook, the possibilities are endless!
