As we start to feel a chill in the air and begin to light our fall-scented candles, I know we’re all thinking about how to dress to match the fall aesthetic. In my opinion, fall has the best fashion of any season, and I can’t wait to dive deeper into how to curate the perfect fall fit!

I started to pull ideas from the most iconic fall characters and channel my inner Rory Gilmore, Elena Gilbert, and Aria Montgomery. I know we’ve all seen how the 2000s Hollister and Abercrombie & Fitch Henley long sleeves are making a major comeback. And if you haven’t, I’ll tell you right now that every Depop girl is screaming about how much they’re being sold for. The 2000s had the right idea when it came to fall fashion, and I use it for my inspiration every year.

To start, I think that Henley’s long sleeves or a tight, long sweater would fit perfectly with the aesthetic. I have a grey knit Abercrombie & Fitch sweater that I’ve been dying to wear. A sweater or Henley layers flawlessly with a lace cami underneath.

Next, you need a denim or cargo skirt, or if you’re feeling bold, you could even whip out your skinny jeans that have been collecting dust in your closet for ages. I know that skinny jeans can be controversial, but with a fall-inspired fit, you can’t go wrong. In the San Diego heat, you can also try on some mini jean shorts.

If you’ve picked a skirt or a pair of shorts, adding some tights is a game-changer. I recently got some burgundy-colored tights, and I’m obsessed. You can also opt for something more classic, such as sheer black or lacy tights. I’ve been really into tights and leg warmers recently, and if they’re not too much for the San Diego weather, they add a lot of depth to any outfit. Leg warmers will complement the shoe choices I’m about to recommend to you.

To put it all together, you can’t go wrong with a pair of tall brown boots or some Uggs. The first thing that comes to mind is those Steve Madden boots with the buckles that everyone loves. Something that will always have you feeling festive is your classic pair of brown Ugg boots.

Now, for the most important part… accessories! This outfit pairs well with a hair clip for a cute half-up, half-down look or a thick black headband. A brown belt is essential for every outfit. Add some chunky gold hoops or dangly earrings and a dainty necklace, and you have yourself the perfect fall outfit from head to toe!
