During my senior year of high school, my dad always told me, “You better get used to eating the same thing every day because that’ll be your life in college.” Technically, he was right, because I tend to stick to what I like, but luckily I had a large variety to choose from at my school. Here are some of my favorite SDSU eats!

1. California Bowl from Rubio’s

Ask any of my friends what my all-time favorite meal at SDSU is and they will all answer with “the California Bowl with shrimp and salsa verde.” This bowl consists of black beans, citrus rice, guac, pico de gallo and your choice of protein and salsa. 100% must try!

2. Fish Tacos from Eureka!

Tacos are my favorite food and these tacos never disappoint. I love the mango salsa that comes on top – it adds a splash of sweetness. The tacos normally come with chips and salsa, but I ask for fries or mac and cheese balls instead.

3. Poke Bowl from Poke 1 ½

My go to order includes brown rice, shrimp, avocado, edamame, green onion, cilantro and poke sauce. I love getting this bowl when I’m in the mood for something fresh and simple.

4. Raw PB Acai Bowl from Shake Smart

I’m on Team Shake Smart and am a big fan of this bowl. The Raw PB bowl has scoops of açaí, granola, peanut butter, chocolate chips and bananas. I normally add coconut to my bowl, but I love the original one too. This is great to eat after a workout or if you’re just in the mood for açaí.

5. Rolled Potato Taco Plate from Lolita’s

I love Mexican food and this restaurant chain, so when they opened the SDSU

location, I was so happy! I used to always get the bean burrito but decided to try

something new one time, and I’ve been hooked ever since. This plate comes with three

rolled tacos (potato filled for me), beans and rice.
