Dead Week in the Library: Raise Da Roof

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at SCU chapter.

The library during dead week is THE event of the quarter. Anyone who’s anyone is going to be there so you best be looking fine. Whether you are going for the pregame, the game, or the after party, the library is about to be POPPIN’ OFF!!

First things first: girls must get their makeup and hair done for this weeklong event. Try out the Blow Dry Bar on Santana Row for a vivacious and fresh look followed by an appointment at MAC cosmetics for that “I just woke up like this” look. I heard BCBG and Prada have some great, reasonably priced dresses for the event, too!

Fellers , you gotta whip out your best formal attire. This social event’s motto is “dress to impress”. How else are you going to look cool AND pick up some chicks?

If anyone is attending the Date & a Calculator event in the St. Clare Room, do NOT forget to bring the calculator! (Boys, it would be gentlemanly of you to supply the calculator of her choice.)

We all know there are always certain types of people at the party…

1. The Lingerers

You people just really don’t know when to go home, do you? Partying ‘til the break of dawn is just tough. You know what they say: nothing good happens past midnight! Now get out of the stacks.

2. The Passed-Outers

Had a little bit too much fun a little too early?  Wake up, you big sleepy head, so you can get back to the party.  Hopefully no one used a sharpie on you because you probably left your shoes on.

3. The DJ

The big tough guy forgot that his headphones weren’t plugged in and blasted Britney Spears out of his laptop speakers. Then everyone stared at him. We all know this guy.

4. The Social Butterfly

This person walks around to every table in the entire library party without ever doing his or her work. Maybe it’s a technique to get a date to Date & a Calculator.

Overall, dead week ain’t so bad when there is a party every day in the library. Live the party. Love the party. BE the party.
