Breath in and out, count to 10. Tell yourself it’s going to be “OK”! Are you calm? No? Grab your planner and plan the following days leading up to the test. For now, don’t despair – here are a few tips for a successful finals week.

1. You should spend 45 minutes studying one subject. NOT the night before the exam, this can cause too much stress and subsequently hurt your memory.

2. If you usually drink coffee in the morning or eat a healthy breakfast, you should especially do this the day of the exam. If you miss breakfast, your concentration and memory is reduced by 40%.

3. Napping between subjects is not a bad idea, however the nap should be no longer than 30 minutes. Ever wake up after what was supposed to be a 20-minute nap, that turned into 3 hours?

4. You should study a little bit of material every day, NOT all at once.

5. Study breaks should only last 5 minutes, so it’s a good idea to turn off your cell phone.

Stay positive and work hard. That way you can walk away from classes like:
