I was probably in high school when I first really heard about zodiacs and astrology. I didn’t know too much about it; all I knew was that my sign related to my birthday and that a lot of people didn’t believe that a sign could tell you who you are. I think because of the negativity that surrounded the topic, I never really looked much into it and probably would have considered myself a nonbeliever too. I felt this way until I got to college. It was actually some of the members of Her Campus Scranton that started to teach me more about my zodiac sign and astrology in general. I had no idea there was so much that went into it like my sun, moon, rising, and house placements.
I learned little things here and there about generalizations of different signs and how that related to relationship compatibility whether that be with a friend or significant other. I grew so curious that I began to do my own research. I wanted to know how accurate everything really was for myself by seeing if these descriptions matched my personality. I have always known the location and exact time that I was born so it was very easy for me to plug my information into various apps and websites to see what would come up. Now I know that not every place I looked could have been considered the most reliable, BUT I did start to resonate with what was there.
I began to look more and more into it until I became quite a believer myself. It is hard to argue with the fact that descriptions of signs matched the way that you would describe yourself, still differing from others. Now if you are reading this far you may be wondering what my signs are and how they represent me. Well, there is a lot that goes into it, so I’ll keep it brief because I want you to do some of your own research. Before I reveal, it is also important to note that to a degree these are generalizations, so you are not going to fit every single description that goes into it. Despite this, I think it can still be fun and informative.
I am a Virgo sun, Sagittarius rising, and Capricorn moon. The best way I can describe the Virgo part of myself is that I am a perfectionist, hard-working, extremely logical/level-headed, and receive the most satisfaction by helping others. As for my rising Sagittarius, this shows that I am outgoing because I am extremely talkative, approachable, and love learning about new things especially through travel. Lastly, my Capricorn moon describes how I emotionally struggle to process things; I feel a lot for others, but I sometimes have a hard time expressing those feelings towards others.
Sooooo in conclusion, I hope this article gave you some insight as to how interesting astrology can be and if you started out a nonbeliever like me, maybe this gave you the motivation to give things a closer look.
