Why Being an Aunt is the Most Awesome Job in the World

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Scranton chapter.

What’s the most rewarding and greatest job in the world? Being an aunt.
Because having the title ‘aunt’ in front of your name sounds totally awesome.
And makes you just a little bit cooler…
Which probably means you also have the title of ‘godmother’.
They give the most perfect kisses at the most perfect times.

You have someone that admirers you even at your worst.
You have a little human to spoil the sh*t out of, whether it’s buying a new toy or giving him or her a cookie before dinner.
Your niece or nephew can ALWAYS put a smile on your face.

You’re there for the giggles, but can quickly hand him or her back when it’s time for a diaper change.
They make the best college visits.
Every time you Instagram him or her you get a million more likes than usual.
You have your own personal mini me that copies your every move. Literally.

You cry on their birthdays because you have watched them grow.
Let’s face it: you secretly enjoy playing with Play Doh and watching Disney Junior…oh and of course, building blanket forts.
You always have a reliable ice cream date who will never stand you up.

As they grow older, you will be their go-to when the phone call to mom is just too scary.
You were blessed with the ultimate best friend.
& last but not least, nothing beats the proud auntie moments.
